EMERGENCY FIRST RESPONDER
N.B: ALL ENTRY LEVEL COURSES HAVE A MAXIMUM OF ONLY FOUR STUDENTS PER INSTRUCTOR / COURSE
This course is ideal for anyone, diver or non-diver, who wishes to build their confidence and know what to do when no one else does! It is also a companion to the Rescue diver course.
During the course you will learn about ‘Primary Care’. This includes CPR and Rescue breathing plus the Management of bleeding, shock, spinal injuries and choking.
You will also be taught about Emergency oxygen administration use, and how to use an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) .
With the addition of ‘Secondary Care’, this course exceeds the recommendations required to be recognised as the ‘HSE appointed person at work’. The course duration is normally over 1 or 2 evenings.
EFR Primary Care (CPR) teaches participants how to respond to life-threatening emergencies.
The course focuses on primary care through a combination of knowledge development, skill development and realistic scenario practice to make sure participants have the confidence in their ability to providecare when emergency situations arise.
This course is based on guidelines from ILCOR and is HSE approved.
