Our scuba diving site in Plymouth
Plymouth is a city on the South Devon coast bordering Cornwall. A magnet for sailors and divers alike, Plymouth is a city steeped in history.
Numerous wrecks are to found around the coastline with the dive boats leaving from Plymouth. The two wrecks that we have visited the most are the ‘James Eagan Layne’ and HMS Syclla.
The later was sunk as an artificial reef and lies upright in 27 metres of water. The James Eagan Layne on the other hand, was torpedoed on her maiden voyage during World War two. She lies in 22 metres of water and is a truly spectacular dive with an abundance of marine life making her their home. We tend to use the dive sights at Plymouth primarily for wreck and advanced diver training. We generally venture out of Plymouth on the dive boat ‘ Furious’.
The boat is a hard boat kited out for 12 divers in comfort. In addition to this it also has a ‘divers’ lift on the stern. Lovely!
